Grant History

  • June 2011 - Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama - Donated $15,000 for Sun Safety Summer Camp Programs in the Birmingham, AL area impacting > 1,100 young girls and boys
  • July 2011 - Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital - Donated $15,000 for week long Sun Safety Day Camp with > 200 young women in Grades K-6 in the Northern Virginia area
  • November 2011 - Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital - Donated $15,000 for Sun Safety Summer Camp for the 2012 Summer Programs along with an additional $15,000 in partnership with The Girl Scouts for Sun Safety Awareness as part of their 100th Anniversary Event on the Mall in Washington, D.C. - estimated attendance > 200,000
  • November 2011 - Levine Cancer Institute at Carolinas Medical Center - Donated $25,000 to fund a research grant to investigate a program which will increase the effectiveness of a chemotherapy treatment designed for late stage Melanoma patients
  • March 2013 - Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital - Donated $15,000 to fund Sun Safety Summer Camp for the 2013 Summer Programs
  • April 2014 - Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital - Donated $15,000 to fund Sun Safety Summer Camp for the 2014 Summer Programs
  • April 2015 - Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital - Donated $15,000 to fund Sun Safety Summer Camp for the 2015 Summer Programs
  • May 2015 - Levine Cancer Institute at Carolinas Healthcare System - Donated $32,064 to fund a second research grant for the next stage of the program to increase the effectiveness of a chemotherapy and immunotherapy program for late stage Melanoma patients
  • April 2016 - Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capital - Donated $20,000 for Sun Safety Programming for Summer Sleep Away Camp Potomac Woods - impacting >1,200 Girl Scouts
  • March 2017 - Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Western North Carolina - Donated $6,000 to fund the wish of a 7 year old Melanoma patient to take a family fantasy cruise to Alaska
  • May 2017 - Girls Scouts, Hornets' Nest Council - Donated $12,500 to fund Sun Safety Awareness projects for the 2017 Summer Programs at Dale Earnhardt Environmental Leadership Campus
